Choosing the right brush makes a difference in the application of the adhesive, but in addition to having the best option for the activity, it is essential to follow some precautions to increase the product’s useful life and improve its applicability.
Check out eight important tips:
1. Each adhesive applicator must work with a minimum of two brushes. Rotate the brush every four hours at most. After placing the brush in the pot, let it rest for the same period until completely cleaned.
2. Use the most suitable brush for each type of adhesive. There are special brushes with bristles that are more suitable for water and/or solvent based adhesives.
3. The most suitable solvent must be evaluated by your adhesive supplier. There are several types and when not used the right one, the useful life, the quality of the brush and the application are compromised.
4. Remove excess adhesive with a rag or cloth before placing or removing the brush in the pot.
5. For a complete cleaning of the brush, leave it submerged in the appropriate solvent for an average of four hours.
6. Change the solvent in the pot when necessary.
7. Keep the pot capped to prevent solvent evaporation.
